goat cheese proscuitto crostini

This is my go-to appetizer when I am in a time crunch. So simple, but it sure does pack a punch. Enjoy!

  • 1 fresh baguette
  • 1/8 cup olive oil
  • sea salt
  • crushed peppercorn
  • 4 ounces goat cheese, plain, at room temperature
  • 6 tablespoons fig jam
  • 1 package of prosciutto, each piece cut in half
  • 10-12 fresh basil leaves

  • Preheat the oven to 375 degrees
  • Slice the baguette on the diagonal into 1/2 inch thick pieces
  • Lay out the pieces onto a baking sheet and brush each piece with the olive oil mixed with the crushed peppercorn
  • Bake for 10 minutes or until slightly golden
  • Allow the pieces to slightly cool, and spread on the goat cheese
  • Once the goat cheese is spread on, spread a thin layer of the fig jam
  • Top each piece with prosciutto
  • Lay a basil leaf on each crostini and serve
